Default Isnt there an alternative to using a JDM style 2.5" exhaust flange?

I need an exhaust on my car from the header back. I just got a header with the 2.5" collector flange. I think that there is an alternative to using a JDM style flange that cost over $20.00 isnt there? Can't an exhaust shop flare out the pipe going to the converter or test pipe where it bolts up the the header so you can use the stock spring bolts and one of the stock donut gaskets? I dont see where there would be any problems with that. Or maybe Im just really dumb and tired and this is normally what they do.
