its a dx 88-91 tranny and it looks like ill never find a si
so is there anything i can do to it or for it to accelerate like an si or better

 

Tranny accelerating? Are you talking about your gearing? There is many things to make your car quicker. It's all in how much you want to invest into the car. Personally I would go mini-me setup if you want your car to be faster.

And you find it doesn't accelerate as quick as an SI? I drove my friends and I find his is quicker if not the same as an SI! Very odd. Good question tho. If you are looking for an SI Tranny tho I might know someone with one for sale. But it's in Canada

 

Besides reworking the innards of your transmission(gearing) there isn't much you can do to make a transmission go faster. You could free up horsepower by having a lighter flywheel.

For that price and the labor, you might as well find yourself an SI tranny.

Or you could always create a hybrid SI/ZC transmission, but that requires more money, more knowledge and way more time.

 

i may have a Si tranny for sale soon. Depends if i can find a B16 swap around my budget. So far with labor and complete swap is around 4k trying to find one around 2800-3200. If i do get it you will the first i contact.
