Why is your JDM front end conversion worth the moneY?
Well I did mine cause I wanted my crx to look more like the UK 1.6i-VT, also IMO it makes the crx front end look better since it is more rounder then the usdm front which is more square. Also it's not something you see everyday when your out driving around, well now it's getting more common but it's still cool to see someone that has done a conversion cause you know what they have been through to make it look like that.
I think its a waste of money. Just cause its JDM and not a body kit, people think its ok. I think its a total waste of time and money to make something look Just a tad diffrent then stock.

Well technically building a Honda is a waste of money cause no matter how much you put into it you'll never get anywhere near that much money back.

Well, since I can get them for free, I am considering the upgrade (or downgrade, whatever you want to call it)

ok ricer boy. it looks completely different . first the hood looks way better scooped out. next the bumper is rounder. i personally dont think the crx looks as old as they really are. someone asked me what year mine was when i got it and when i told her 88 she didnt believe me, so i think the jdm front goes well with the rest of the car. who cares though if other ppl think its worth it, if you like it then do it, dont do it because its jdm, do what you like.

Ya, for sure... The jdm headlights I have are in better shape than my usdm ones, and the sir hood will allow me room for my b18c

Where i live i have not seen one car with the JDM front and its weird cuz there is alot of Crxs and hatchs here but most of them put the clear side marks and those gay taillights. And it make the car look so much better with out getting a body kit. I got my front end for pretty much free cuz i got it from a front clip with a B16 in it. And i love it when people ask about your car cuz they have never seen one like it
I don't really like it just because it's "JDM" or whatever, I just think it looks way better than USDM front end that we got here. If I gave a **** about looks and I had the extra $ I'd be all over it!
i dont like it when people say "but it doesn't look that much different" gosh you people dont see the little things....like the saying goes its the little things in life that count ....well something like that....i dont have a jdm front end but i really really want one....its wayy nicer than the usdm front and i'd pay the 800 anyday for a front jdm end
A JDM front end conversion can be worth the money to people for a variety of differences. Although some people may say it doesn't look that much different, others disagree. But the bottom line is that if someone out there likes the looks of the JDM front end enough to be willing to spend the money on it, then the conversion is worth it to that person. Even if others look at the conversion as frivolous. There are, of course, other more utilitarian reasons for a JDM conversion. For instance, the hood provides more clearance for taller motors (B18C, LS-VTEC, etc.). Also, if you need to replace the front end parts to repair body damage, the JDM front end conversion might not be such a bad way to go.

I was considering it but I kind of think its a bad investment. My fenders are bent in from the doors, my bumper is scuffed and my hood is rusting so I wanted the SiR front end. Then I thought about if I screwed up say a fender then it would be hard to replace because I couldnt just go to a junkyard to pull off another fender. I dunno it looks better IMO but in a way sounds like a bad investment.

actually you could go to a junkyard and replace the jdm front fender with a usdm fender. they are the same (except the jdm has a hole predrilled for sidemarkers) but you could drill the udsm and put it in (like many do). ya i always wondered if in japan they put on like clear taillights and chrome wheels and try to be USDM.

this is the jdm front, notice the wrap around bumper lights really help the cars profile, and the headlights are much longer, and they have a MUCH better look at nite, no more "ugly box" bc they are single bulb without the seperation piece so the whole housing lights up whenever they are on.
fender sidemarkers, the hood is convex and has a much nicer bump like newer civics do. the only visual disadvantage to this is it looks somewhat like an interga from the direct front when its done, but its really better looking in my opinion.
anyways: (NOT MY CAR)
im not posting a pic of the usdm, just go out and look at your car to see the difference, also the hatch SiR front is defferent because it haa that filler piece between the hood and bumper: (this image courtesy of passwordjdm.com who sells all this stuff btw)

^^^Are you sure thats an SiR, I believe the ZC models and the other CRX's in Japan besides the SiR didnt have the wrap around turn sinal lights. Looks like it has the ZC hood too.

Correct. That ain't a SiR, which is what everyone calls the 'JDM' front end.
