1/4 window rubber molding question
I was just curious weather anyone has replaced the rubber molding on the outside of the 1/4 windows on a 4th gen. Mine are dried out really bad and they are actually pulling away from the body of the car and there is a gap between them. Is there anyway i can either clean it and ring soe life back to it or maybe even replace it? If replacement is the only option are they hard to replace? I cant even begin to figure out how that stuff is put on there.
You will need to replace it, you can't bring dried rubber "back to life." I'm pretty sure you can order the new moldings online somewhere and replace them yourself.
Do you know how to take it off to replace it? Im pretty stumped. maybe they come out from the inside or something?
I dont think repainting it will work because the rubber surface has a porus texture to it and i would have to fill them with bondo or something and that sounds like it may be pretty tacky IMO.
