Default An Important Question

Hello, I'm planning on buying a 1990 Honda Civic Hatchback, and the guy thats selling it to me said that it has 70 hp. Come on, my grandfather's tractor has more hp than that. Am I being fooled, or does the '90 Civic really have 70 hp? Sorry, if this is the wrong place to ask this.

if it's the 4 speed std than it's probably not even putting but 50 to the wheels.

Man, thats ridiculous.... I also know of a place thats selling a '94 automatic Civic DX, and a 5-speed '89 Civic Hatchback SI. But, the '89 SI is rusted in the rear pretty bad. The DX is all good except it needs a new headlight. Which one would be better? Btw, the 90 hatchback is 5-speed, would it have somewhat more horsepower than a 4-speed std?

who cares how much horsepower it has stock when i got my 91 the first thing i did to it was drop in a b16. most of the hondas in the US have shitty horse power ratings so i wouldn't even waste my time with a stock motor, i would say get the SI but unless your good at body work stay away from that rust.

I'm running on a budget here, in other words: no engine swap.If I do decide to get that '90 civic then could you guys give me some links to some sites that have performance parts for it? All the stuff I find is for SI's and DX's.

If you got that motor you would have to put the SI/DX head on it, or at least convert to mpfi. Then all of the si/dx parts will fit.
