the setting that are in the car right now are the stock settings for the car so basically all the vafc is doing is the controlling of vtec... but we are looking for help on maybe good settings to make hp not take it away.
u need a way to measure the A/f and since its NA u wanna lean it out to abt 13:1-13.5:1 thas where most Na cars make the most power the H series tends to run really fat up top so thas mainly where u would take out some fuel

That is a longest run-on sentence ever! Every car is different. He spent the money buying the VAFC just to make more power right? And the only way to make the most out of VAFC is dyno tune it. If he tries to save money on dyno, what is the point of getting VAFC???

its not that he doesnt want to go to the dyno. he is seeing if he can do anything himself before he has to go since the closest dyno is like i dunno 4 hours away..but if there is nothing he can do he'll take it to the dyno... he was just making sure he cant do anything with out having to rely on some one else to do it for him.. you know what iam saying?
I can't help much. http://www.absoluteprelude.com/vafc.html

theoretically, if you installed an a/f gauge with your vafc you could find a parking lot and run up 2nd or 3rd gear with a friend taking notes on the numbers and do your adjustments like that? (proposing a ghetto dyno)

NO, he'll need a wideband to be able to do that. A Narrowband A/F gauge will not work. He'll need to hit a dyno equipped with a wideband O2. Tell your friend to leave all the settings as is (at 0) until he hits a dyno. I left my vafc alone for a year after i bought it until i hit the dyno.
Empathy, VAFC has nothing to do with ignition timing, he SHOULD NOT touch the timing at all, leave it at stock.
