Default Just got a rebuild and.......

I finally got my car back after a 2 week wait for my full rebuild. My set up is:
B18c5 block and pistons
ported b16 head
knife edged crank
light weight flywheel
exedy clutch
thin head gasket

All new gaskets, water pump, rings, timting belt, cam seals, etc. My head was sent out for a valve job and it turned out I had a bent valve. I am breaking it in slowly right now, not taking it above 4000 rpms. In the morning when I start up my car it take a while to turn over. Is this tipical after a rebuild? After that I have no problems...the car runs fine, idles fine, everything is great. Anyone else have a similar prob? and if so how long can I expect this to happen?

It could be not enough juice to turn over. Alternator or battery or faulty connections. Just my input.

a bad alternator could drain your battery as well.

are you letting the fuel pump prime completly, or are you just turing it straight to start?

How long is a while? My Y8 is stock, and if it sits for more than a day, it'll sometimes crank for a while and run a bit rough. It's done it since new, and have heard from many people that it's a normal thing.

Does it take a while to start, or does it take a while for the starter to actually turn? My CRX takes a while before the starter cranks. I'm pretty sure its my selanoid, because I used to be able to start it by jumping 12v to the selanoid, but now it just won't start at all. Probably because of jumping it so much

yes, i let it prime. It cranks but I have to give it gas and if i let off the gas it stalls. Once it warms up its fine all day as long as it doesnt sit for over 3 or 4 hours.

have you checked out your dizzy, before my coil went out it would act up sparaticly from time to time not wanting to start once i've shut her down. I would also check to see if the fuel filter/injectors may be partialy clogged, with the fuel having so many additives now it holds a shelf life of 2 weeks to thirty days before it starts to gum up and varnish. I'm not sure how long it's been sitting but it's a suggestion

6 ECT - water temperature sensor and you already replaced it 3 times. May have some wiring issues. So does is start slow like a drained battery or does it crank good but just take like 5 or 6 cranks to start? Hopefully that thin head gasket hasn't sprung a small leak. Any smoke out the exhaust?

cranks good, just takes a couple of times to start it and then I have to lay witht he gas. Also my cluster lights are off and im thinking that it has something to due with the problem. Sounds wierd but I got a hunch
No smoke anymore....had some but thats normal for a rebuild.
