Default AC doesnt blow cold = no freon

My ac hasnt worked for a year or so I decided to rip it all out. Since it doesnt blow cold does that me it doesnt have any freon and I can take it apart by myself without anybody have to reclaim the freon?

Having all the refrigerant leaked out is only one way for AC to screw up. Until you troubleshoot it & find out, it's possible that it's still filled with refrigerant. I suppose you can get one of those $8 pencil-type AC pressure gauges & check whether it's actually empty.
