So yesterday I went out to Long Beach for the LBGP; since I'd never been to a cart race I didn't really know what to expect. It was actually a really good event to be at, and sitting trackside made it a lot more enjoyable. There were people filling the stands from 7:00am on just to catch a glimpse of some high speed action. Besides the regular race they also had their Celebrity race and a drift expo put on by the Formula D crew. Anyways, enough talk... here you go:

Seriously. The race was decent. Better than last year, but it will NEVER EVER EVER top the Zanardi pass with 2 laps to go race back in the late 90's. That was when CART was in it's prime.

Yeah he did. In the local paper they quoted him saying he might slow down on the TV and big screen stuff and take up race car driving. Cocky rich kids.

He actually finished second to Rhys Millen; the guys who were in 2nd and 3rd wrecked maybe one lap before the finish.

He was actually one of the 4 "Pro" entries that started 30 seconds behind the rest of the field... so yeah, he pretty much toyed with them and was in first place by the 6th or 7th lap.

 

Here is a little interesting fact about this race. They have to weld the man hole covers (sewer covers) up before they race because the downforce from the champ cars is so crazy, they would actually pick them up and shoot them into the air if the were left alone. I foget the numbers but the downforce on the rear wheels is so rediculously high it's unbelievable.
