The paint on my black car is getting tired along with my C.F. hood. So I'm planning on getting it painted. I was wondering if it was possible to paint my carbon fiber hood to match the new paint job. My concern is that the hood might be too flexible and that the paint might crack.
On my old Eclipse GST I painted the CF hood silver to match the car. I only owned the car for about 3 months after that, but the paint was fine and didn't crackle.
we painted our cf hood and it turned out fine. All we did was just sand it down, primer and then paint.

Sun down here in the south is brutal on carbon fiber; cracked my VIS CF hood within two years so I decided to paint mine. It was fine. Just mke sure you wet sand to get any overcoating off (I didn't fine tune one tiny spot and it was a little rough but not too noticable).

they did a real good job on the paint and it just cost us less than $500. We did all the body work and sprayed it w/primer our selfs. we saved like $1200
