Any Motor mounts that don't shake the car.
I did a search, tried the Energy Suspension Inserts and have talked to someone I respect locally.
I would like to reduce twisting action at high RPM so as not to tear up the Tranny.
The ES Inserts worked but shake the car and increase engine noise in the car.
I pulled them back out and put ITR mounts back in.
If anyone has a solution other than shift at a lower RPM or wait inbetween gears let me know Please.

i'm gonna take a stab at this and say that if their are mounts that don't shake the car then they aren't really doing their job? i mean i don't see how their could be mounts that work well but don't shake the car at all but i could be wrong. i'm curious about this as well, bump for someone to clear this up.

Well, the job of the mount is to isolate the movement of the engine from the rest of the car. Otherwise the engines would have been bolted straight to the frame instead.
Hell, even my stock mounts shake the car, gotta figure out what it is though

You could have a broken mount.
Has anyone used the Spoon Sports Motor Mounts
they look like stock mounts but beefier
Or just one insert say on the tranny side.

both the spoon and mugen mounts do their jobs without the "rattling your fillings loose" type of drama...
i run all 5 mugen mounts, bc thats the only way they sell them...those *******

did it fix wheel hop and shift problems
and is there any increase in noise or vibration even minor?

to my surprise it really did help the wheel hop problems...
as for the shifting problems, i am not aware there were any such problems associated with these mount

I did'nt have any problems till I modified the motor which increased the torque I'm guesing. But with inserts in it will shift properly and no wheel hop.
i liked the prothane insert on the driver's side torque mount only, since that one is weaksauce. i thought my jimfabs that i used to have were way hardcore for my tastes.
can't wait to put my z10 traction bar in

i can vouche for mugen mounts, i used them for about 6 months and they didnt vibrate the car at all. they were stiff enough to keep the engine movement in check and not upset the car so much.

Curious if anyone has opinions with using these mounts on a turbo application.

Very good investment. I really like my Mugen Mounts. A little more vibration than stock, but all the drivetrain slop was eliminated, wheel hop vanished, and the car just felt more connected. I'm almost beginning to believe motor mounts are wear items, like brake pads and clutches. If you check out your current mounts you'll be quite suprised how bad the rubber looks. My rear tranny mount had a big tear in in and the rest looked pretty bad as well.

I've got the Energy Suspension kit, it helped the wheelhop a lot, made the whole drivetrain feel stiffer. If your exhaust is already loud, you'll get used to the extra vibration really quickly.
Not sure on the spoon/mugen/etc. mounts. I haven't heard of hardly anyone using them until this thread.

Jeff when you say a little more vibration how much?
With inserts my stering wheel shakes and a little in the dashboard.
Also the engine noise was amplified. Yes motor mounts are wear items, when I went to install my engine 3 of the 5 were torn 1 all the way through.

.....if you don't like vibration, maybe this isn't the car for you? I'm not trying to be an ***, but these buggers are noisy, loud, and uncomfortable to many... just personal preference/ taste, I guess.
Anyway, if ES was too hardcore for you then stay away from the Prothane ones - those are even worse. And heaven forbid you putting both of these sets in your car like the few of us who dig punishment. lol
Perhaps a Mr. Alex engine dampener would be better suited to your tastes? I don't think it would transfer more vibration - and you could keep your stock soft motor mounts.....
Traction bars are another option - if you are trying to prevent wheel hop. But I found it hard to discern in your post whether you want to isolate engine movement or prevent wheel hop and/or both....?

Did you put in all 3 sets of the ES inserts? I did the front 2 1 weekend and the tranny the next one. With just the side ones in vibration was much more noticable and the car really shook. With all 3 in, it wasn't nearly as bad IMO

Dude,
I raced SCCA for about 5 years and have been playing with cars for quite a few years. So when it comes to noise and vibration I am no stranger, I just don't want my daily driver to vibrate and be loud.
I would like to be able to shift my car at any RPM I chose and would like to reduce wheel hop and it sounds like the Mugen mounts do that with out the vibration of the inserts which is what I'm looking for, but if you pefer the vibration and noise be my guest and do it any way you like its your car Solid mount it for all I care. Listen man this form has given me a few ideas and that is what its for
Thanks guys
Andy

then Z10 bars are what you need, I have them and it eliminates 95% of wheel hop and does not introduce new vibrations into the car.

Hahaha
You gotta admit, a lot of people aren't worried about ride quality and noise of their cars... I daily drive a car with a stripped rear interior for example... well, I daily drive it when it's running
Let us know how those Mugen mounts work! Traction bars may be another alternative for the wheel hop issue.
