Default is there a good way to remove clear coat?

i had to buy a beater to get me around through the summer since my car was stolen and im not quite ready yet to get a new car.

Anyways the car is oxodized and the clear coat is flaking in most parts, i would like to peel all the clear coat off and use a compound on the paint to at least make it a little better.

I though of wetsanding the clearcoat with 2000 grit, but im not sure that will be abrasive enough to get it off.

What are your suggestions.

Ive also thought about flat blacking it, etc.. do they make like a dark blue primer? i think i might like that better than black. anyways what should i do.

you would have to work at it a while with 2000grit. You can go over it with something a little bit rougher then just go back over with 2000 grit
