forbidden shortshifter setting
i dont know if this is true but somewhere i read about people being worried about long term effects to the tranny from running the shortest setting? is this true?
Any fast shifting is hard on a tranny, regardless of a short shifter or not. You have to realize that the shifter is not directly connected to the transmission. It is only through cables. The lever only serves as a mechanism to move the cables.
I know people who have been running it like that for 4 years with no problems.

i've ran shortest setting ever since i got it almost 2 years ago.....
no problems here. the only problem is when you get into another car w/o a SS, then you feel like your arm is halfway into the passenger side

I have mine on the shortest setting. I even got rid of the rubber mounts that loosen up the shifter feeling. I love the way it feels now. I would like to try shifting a stock Prelude again to see the difference. I have gotten used to the way it feels now.

I've also had mine on the shortest setting for about a year. I love it! I have had tranny trouble but not from the short shifter(lost reverse). Like 4Bidden said shifting quick on any car hurts the tranny etc. From what I have heard the destruction of a tranny with a short shifter comes from the person themself, instead of compensating for the shorter throw people still try to throw real hard as if they still had a stock shifter which puts strain on cable and tanny.
^^ So your saying with the forbidden shifter a person should take there time a little more than usual with the shifting to be easier on the tranny.

honestly just make sure your clutch is disengaged fully before you jam it into gear, reaming too hard on the shifter will break the cables before anything inside the trans 90% of the time....
