Default Light Wheel Search - need opinion

I need some help with wheels for my 96 GS-R...
1) I want something light
2) Something 16" or 17"
3) Not associated with ricers
4) Something with performance that will last -(name brand, good company)
and finally -something under a grand

I've been shopping around for a month or so... i know about the light Mugen, buddy club, rota, and all them.. but they're so damn expensive! I have a budget of about a grand and i'd like to go as light as i can and get as much performance out of it - Any recommendations?

So far i've picked out these 17" Falken Hanabis wrapped in Falken Ziex Ze-512 205/40R17s - the wheels are a little under 17 pounds.. and the tires are about 17.5 pounds. I can pick up a set of 4 for a little over 800 ... sound good?

Open for suggestions

Sounds good guys thanks for the help

Another question.. im sure its been discussed a lot over this form but i haven't found exactally what i was looking for....
Should i care about the weight of the tires? because i could get these Falken Ze-Ziex 512s that weigh 17 pounds.. but things like Toyo Proxies and Yoko AVS weigh 20+ but im sure have better performance........ any input?
