Default Car skips

I have z6 with a 14b( turbo is really old needs to be replaced) homemade setup(hf mani) 450's zdyne.... this setup has been running for over a year.

The problem is when i go to get on it sometimes it just cuts all power to the car cuts and then it surges back and then cuts and then surges back... if i barly put my foot on the gas and accel its fine.... but if i have the throttle more then a 1/4 the way down the car just goes in and out lemme know if this rings a bell to anyone

Yeah, that isn't a common symptom for the VSS. Like you said it could be the igniter but it's really hard to say. When was the last time that you changed the cap, rotor, plugs and wires???

Yea i could use new wires but everything else is pretty new... From what i have been reading a lot of people have this problem and nobody really seems to have a forsure fix for it. The car feels like it complety loses power and then regains it i almost busted my teeth on the stearing wheel when it did it today

Does it Rev freely? Get under the hood and rev it up. See if it skips then.
Also this happend to my DX kinda. it had a studer at 1\4 throttle. whats your idle at? I had to adjust my idle, and Throtle Cable, no more miss.

this is a common problem for failing diverter valves/blow off valves and wastegates. our passat did the same and the diverter valve (which is just a fancy BOV) kept popping open when it wasn't supposed to. good luck.

if i keep the car at 1/4 throttle it accels all the way to redline but if i try and punch it anywhere it cuts power lurches and then goes
