Default prelude track times.

took my car to the track for the first time today. just thought i would post this to see how i compare to the other turbo ludea around the country. maybe you guys could help me cut a few tenths.

CAR: 1994 honda prelude si H23A1

MAJOR MODS: custom turbo kit t3/t4 turbonetics turbo, spearco front mount, all fuel stuff, all ignition stuff, apexi p.o.S.-AFC, tial waste gate with 4.5 spring. stock block, stock head, stock compression

DRIVETRAIN: 5-speed, clutchmasters aluminum flywheel and stage 4 clutch, phantom grip, stock rims, stock tires

BEST SLIP OUTA 7:
reaction time - .631
60ft - 2.298
330ft - 6.208
1/8 et - 9.416
1/8 mph - 77.21
1000' et - 12.119
1/4 et - 14.450
1/4 mph - 98.00

my buddy said i was wheel hopping all day that everyone was talking about it, i don't know what that is supposed to mean but apparently i wheel hop very aggressively. i think if i could solve this problem i could cut a few tenths. i wasn't exsactly at the best track around but it was cheap and i gotta lot of runs in for the little time i was there. if anyone has some tips let me know and don't be afraid to critisize. thanks for letting me share my fun,
holla...

Wheel hop is when the front end of the car jumps all over the place because its FWD. Better suspension setup would help that.

Solid motor mounts remedy that as well...

Wow, that's exceptionally fast for an h23 w/bolt-ons.

Maybe the fastest I know of.

Not trying to be a dick but those aren't very good times for a turbo h23.

Get rid of that pos Vafc and get some real engine management
if you want your motor to last. Do not past go, do not collect $200

yeah sometimes i wonder wheather that s-afc helps me or just pisses off my stock ecu even more. by the way i have solid motor mounts. i was talking to a friend last night and he said if i had gone to the better track in our area i woulda been cuttin closer to 14.0 and i shouldnt have the wheel hop problem. but hey 4 pounds of boost and no professional tuning, i was happy. i'll worry about perfecting it next time. that was my first time racing in 2 years and i hadnt gone very often before then either. thanks for the tips guys. hopefully i'll have a couple things done and i'll repost my next best slip at the other track.

the 1/8th trap speed indicates that the lude should be @ around 9.00 sec in the 1/8th... if anything i would say to improve your launch, suspension and buy some slicks... more power(in your case) does not necessarily=better e.t's...

i think some of you guys didnt notice that he is only runnin a 4.5psi spring. for only a 4.5 lbs spring i think that's a pretty good time. about a sec faster then stock.

5 years ago when I was on a stock h23a with bolt-on drag kit at 7 psi I cut 1.8 60fts with a 8.75s 1/8th time on micky t slicks.

Invest in better tires and up your boost a few psi.
