BF Goodrich g-Force Sport
BFG g-Force Sport
Has anyone had any experience with these tires?
I need some new tires (205/45/16) and I'm trying to decide between trying something new (BFG) or sticking with what I know (Yok Parada Spec 2). I've really enjoyed my Paradas, but the BFGs are cheaper.
I believe it's a fairly new tire, but I wanted to know if anyone may have had some personal experience with them.
Thanks in Advance.
Latez,
Paul

I'm with you. I have ES100's now and they are bald. I need new tires and are comparing ES100's with these, but I need more info on the BFG's.

Here is some info I got on both tires. I found the treadlife for both, whihc might be my deciding factor.
http://www.yokohamatire.com/pdf/avses100.pdf
http://www.bfgoodrichtires.com...t.jsp
ES100's have a treadlife of 280 where the Gforce sports have a life of 340.
They have your Yokohama's on the website with its specs aswell. Hope some of this helps.

I bought some BFG sports about a month ago, pretty good tires. Seem to stick pretty good on some fun roads. But I have yet to carve up some canyons, cuz I need an alignment.
I've never driven the Parada's, but I have driven the ES100's. The ES's are great tires, but I have yet to find out which ones handle better. The BFG's are a lil louder than the ES's. But I think the BFG's are gonna fair better than the ES100 on some tight roads. It just seems they need a little more effort to warm up.
Hope this helped.

Please do not spread misinformation. YOU CAN NOT COMPARE TREADWEAR RATINGS BETWEEN MANUFACTURERS. You can only compare the treadwear rating of multiple tires from the same company. No one regulates what number they put for the treadwear rating. It is just to show much each model wears compared to the next to try and sell more expensive tires. For instance you can compare the treadwear rating of the g-Force series:
g-Force Sport 340
g-Force KD 200
g-Force KDW-2 300
g-Force drag radial 0

Have you had them long enough to make an assessment on treadlife?

Holla at Chris, SN is Chris@tires.com. He can get you either tire, and save you a few bucks. He saved me about $30 on my BFG's.

I believe it's a fairly new tire, but I wanted to know if anyone may have had some personal experience with them.

Decided to try them out. It's been a while since I've had directional tread tires. I really enjoy them so far. I've had them on for about 1000 miles or so. I think the sidewall could be a little bit firmer, but for everyday slightly aggressive driving, I feel this tire will work wonderfully. I've driven through a down-pour already and I couldn't get the tires to spin (granted I have stock DX motor).
So, to this BFG, I give

Based on tests done by the Tire Rack, you might be better off staying with the Yokohama ES100.
In one test (here), they rated the BFG g-Force Sport below the Kumho Ecsta 712. Dry performance was very similar, but the 712 was better in the wet.
In another test (here), they rated the Yokohama ES100 higher than the Kumho 712. The ES100 was the winner in 23 out of the 23 characteristics they tested.
Cliff's Notes summary:
Yoko ES100 > Kumho 712 > BFG g-Force Sport
Interesting...
But for everyday use, I think the BFG's aren't a bad tire. We'll just have to wait and see how long they last to see if they are worth it.
PS-for higher performance driving, I have Yok A032Rs. So, like I said, these tires are morely for day to day driving.
Latez,
Paul
