Default H22 type SH motor question

Hey guys,

I'm actually an EK guy, but i'm sure you all have more experience dealing with H22's.

I've come upon a 00 type SH h22. I read a post by some guy saying that the type SH transmission has some kind of "immobilizer" or something to that effect that makes the transmission useless. Is this true? Do I need to get a transmission off a standard H22 to drop it into my EK?

Thanks for the info. I tried searching for this specific issue, but nothing came up.

it's gotta be in the ECU. there's no way that anyone is going to design a transmission with some funtion of "immobilzing" it. At least, with a manual transmission, which I assume that you'd be dropping in your EK. Correct me if i'm wrong, but as far as i know, the only thing wired to the tranny is the VSS, and the reverse light indicator.

You can use the SH motor but not the transmission. You will also need a header from a non-SH.

to bypass the immobilizer you need a 1996 usdm p13 ecu or a jdm p13 ecu.

the thing with the type sh tranny is the ATTS **** and also you have to custom fab a halfshaft bracket to the block.

oicic. yeah, a shop person told me about that ATTS system that the preludes have. that completely slipped my mind. so i guess i need to find a standard transmission. but "raceACCORDingly," is it REQUIRED that i swap out the ECU also?

yea, youll need a p13 or p28 ecu. i just did this swap into my 4th gen accord, and the bracket for the halfshaft isnt too had to fab. you'll need a 5/8 inch peice of steel about 4x4 inches. i cut the last mouting hole off the half shaft, and welded the bracket to the halfshaft. mark the holes where the other 2 mouting holes are on the block and drill the plate. it works and runs great, and i get to keek my lsd from my h22 tranny
