Default so i just spent a day replacing the throw out bearing

took me all day at work, twas my first time, so i expected that.

but i started the car up, and i heard no cricket noises (what everyone said was from the throwout bearing). so naturally im thinking "freakin sweet, teh noise is finally gone"

no sooner do i go around the dealership and im waiting to leave the parking lot, do i hear the noise start up again. its quieter... but why the **** is it doing it again. its brand ******* new. OEM...

yes, i greased the shaft and a few other things that i dont care to attempt to describe lol. someone please tell me why its doing it already again!

It may not be the throwout bearing. It could very well be the mainshaft bearing, which would be a bitch to replace. Does it make noise and then stop with your foot on the clutch? If it does that's what it is.

******* damnit... where were you for the thread like 4 months ago lol

but then again, it only started doing it right after we did the swap (which was the same time we replaced the clutch, pressure plate, and tob in the first place.) so what could cause a mainshaft bearing to turn into a pile of **** just like that? a few weeks of sitting outside with no motor in florida?

if its the mainshaft bearing then im just going to say **** it until i get an m2b4 this summer

my clutch makes a noise when i step on it. more of a squeaky noise. it did this in my cousins 240..and my friends integra..and in my car..its fun to just keep stepping on the clutch. sounds like someone is having sex on a really old mattress.

It's getting louder? That may be a problem, I'm not an expert or anything though. My M2A4 has a noise so I did some searching on HT and that's how I came to the conclusion of main shaft bearing.

I didn't even notice it at first, it sounds like engine noise. All of a sudden I realized my "engine" got queiter when I stepped on the clutch, LOL. It has been the same though and not getting louder, and I can't hear it when I drive.

One thing I couldn't find out is what happens when it fails completely.... I'm hoping it lasts long enough to get my M2B4 too.

i dont think it can completely fail...

i can only hear mine while driving if im passing something that the sound can echo off of. hence why when i go through a wooded area, i wonder if there are actual crickets making all the racket or if its just my car lol
