How do you get it in i pushed and it looks like it's still sticking out. How far does it go in???

 

might try rolling the car a little. there is a gear on the vss and in the tranny that it seats into. it should go down until the notch cut in it is level with transmission casing. then the slide goes in the notch and is screwed to the casing.
