What cause the throttle plate to stick - ANYONE
i was wondering if someone could give me a few reasons or reason why the throttle plate would begin to stick. i have a OB TB from raver motorsports and have had nothing but problems with it sticking. i called the owner, vernon, and he thinks that i am installing it wrong or that i have the throttle cable to tight. well for one, there is only 1 way i know of to put on the throttle body and 2, the cable has about .25-.50" of play in it before the idle changes. does anyone know why this happens??? any info would be of help. it just started doing it, ESPECIALLY after WOT.
Does it get stuck in the open position or the closed position? If it is a little sticky after letting off the throttle you might want to check the stop screw (i think thats what its called). If you adjust it will prevent the butterfly from resting on the body and getting stuck.

if the throttle cable was too tight wouldnt that help to keep it from sticking? Mine cables taut...I say to work it a little and see if it can just find a groove. Unless it's sticking wide open.
at what point does it stick? 1.5k 6k

I've found that by opening the butterfly, and sanding it down with some semi gritty sand paper, it clears up this problem. I've gotten a few TB's from Vernon, and had this problem as well. Remember, aluminum and brass expand and contract at different rates with heat, so that's probably why it didnt stick for him when he was done, but it does for you. HTH
