Still bored B-series exhaust flange.
When designing the flange you should take several things into account:
1) If you are to cut several at once, you want to have the least waste material.
2) If you are going to cut it with a wire EDM, plasma, or waterjet, you want to have the shortest cut length possible.... To include using the same edge on several pieces.
3) If you are going to cut it with a mill, you want to be able to do it with a single bit.

I use AutoCAD, AutoDesk Inventor, and Microsoft Solidworks. Honestly Solidworks is my favorite. You can calculate volume, mass, CG, even stress risers.
Buy it. Its expensive.
The least expensive program is SolidWorks. The student version will set you back about $70, which will buy you a 2 year lisense without Cosmos, which is SolidWorks' built-in finite element analysis program. With Cosmos is $150 for 2 year student lisense.
