This is not for my car ( thankfully ). My buddy has a 99 Civic Si w/ a 2000 ITR motor, drivetrain and ecu in it. As soon as the car gets up to operating temperature, if he disengages the clutch ( push the pedal in ) the revs fall until about 1200 to 2000 rpm and it fluctuates pretty quickly. But, if he turns the car off and then turns it right back on it goes away for another 2 to 3 minutes. I've tried cleaning the idle air control passages in his throttle body, took the IAC out and cleaned it as good as i could with out disassembling it. It trips an Idle Air Control system malfunction code ( says the modus ) and I can't figure out for the life of me what the hell is wrong with it. I've made sure the distributor is rotated out of whack and that the voltage going in and out of his TPS and going into the stepper motor of the IAC valve is and they're both at manufacturer's specifications. I've also heard of this happening on other B, H, F and D series. I think it might have something to do with the aftermarket ( AEM ) cold air intake. If anybody has any experience with this problem, and hopefully how it got fixed, PLEASE help me! Thanks for your time guys.
