From what I heard, Cosworth saw the car and was taken back by the design of the car. They said it was done extremely wrong and that they wanted to cut the front and rear portion of the car off and restart it. I guess they are now debating wether or not to scrap the car and start over or try to fix it. I heard Cosworth was laughing at the car.

 

Sounds like Norwood has his hands full this month with drama / problems.

I wouldn't limit the drama/problems to this month. I think it's gonna be a long year for that old man. Ask me how I know...

There are a few sayings that seem very fitting for his situation:

"You made your bed, now lie in it."

"You reap what you sow."

...and my personal favorite:

"Karma's a bitch"

So I guess you could say that Bob's got a new "bitch".

We all knew when the car left the shop it was wrong. Bob simply did not care. I hope he pays a consequence for the decisions he made.

And mark my words, the drama is not over.

 

its strange, a man with such talent has lately had a few big problems with his designes, hes a very smart man , maby hes overthinking his ideas and goes a little too left field....

Why is it when I said anything negative about that car, I was an *******, but now everyone is laughing at it, and it seems to be ok.. It was pretty to look at, but just was never going to work.. Oh well.

Or, maybe he's *UNDERTHINKING* his ideas before trying to execute them, "selling" them to unsuspecting customers who trust him beacuse of who they *think* he is, then realizing after he's too far into the project that his ideas weren't that good to begin with, and has too much pride to admit he was wrong and correct the issues. There's a pattern with all of the car's he's called the shot's on. Anybody see it???

Brother, you could not be more RIGHT. Everything Tony touches is gold. He is truly gifted. The last thing he needs is to have Bob's bad decisions reflect on him. If anything, he was yelling at Bob on a daily basis to do the right thing, but to no avail (obviously). I personally can't wait to see Tony break off on his own. It's been a long time in the making.

I may lost, but what does cosworth have to do with Subaru????????

 

I cant wait either, the guy is a very smart individual, and I havent met him in person really. Just the stuff he creates. (Tony1)

Yeah the NORAD Celica didnt look to promising after completion and now the Suby?

I just hope you guys get out before he drags your names down with him.

Ali hired Cosworth to do all of the engine development on the EJ25 for the Modified and SRWD WRXs. Once the car left Norwood's, it was taken to Cosworth to fit the engine and ancilliaries. I would love to have been there with a camera when Cosworth saw the car for the first time. Priceless!

I haven't had a chance to check out the NORAD car but what's wrong with it?? I'd love to see that thing run @ 100%..

 

If you look at it in the long run this only hurts drag racing. You have the NORAD Celica which runs in the Pro FWD which only has like 3 cars showing up to events. If the norad Celica design is off who knows how it will take before it hits the track and that would mean only 3 cars in the field. And for ali I hope he can pull it together soon ali is a stand up guy. Tony1. All I’m saying is I hope the teams can bounce back from this for the sake of the sport

 

The field in pro FWD will get larger it was only a 3 car field because it was the first race. You have Jerrold Rhodes car coming out, Nelson hoyos, levvon RSX, norad scion, Brent Leivestad owner of PFI, and im sure there is more out there people are just not ready yet.

well 1 thing is that he couldn't see over the front end cause the wheel humps were soo huge.and that was telivised on MTV.

other than that those guys are smart and talented and you have to keep in mind that everything is pretty much trial and error. alot of the things they do hasn't been done before.

 

I am not talking bad about anyone, but look at the track record for Bob Norwood:

Rado - Car never finished up. It is in CA right now ( not saying where ) and the guys working on it are re-doing the entire rear end and some other stuff!!!!

Stephanie Eggum - Car is not finished, and it was looked over by another chassis fabrication source and they said it was a death trap.

T&T - I heard there was a bunch of things wrong with that car, including the driver

Ali - his Subaru was laughed at. Imagine that, all that work just to have your car laughed at? If I were Ali, I would go postal on Norwood. He is a great guy and deserves better than that.

Kenny Tran - it took him quite a while to recover from Bob. He spent all that $ on tranny prototyping just to have it all never get finished up. Kenny was not a quitter and wised up after a while, thank god. ( Kenny is a great guy, I love to poke fun at him )

With a few more that I am going to fail to mention, there has never been anything really great or even mediocre that has come out of Norwood.

**** Just a side note, I am only refering to Bob's work, not Tony, who I think is a great and creative fabricator that should go out on his OWN and do some really good things

 

this is true more people will be coming out later this year, but if all the projects that are coming out of this camp get scrapped it will hurt the sport.i hope tony are someone can help get these cars up and running
