Launching with sticky compound on track and street tires?
I did a few low rpm launches and my car hopped all over the place, and bounced the dash around a bit. My mirror was hanging sideways. I am getting 2.2 60' times on my potenza re910's. I was running 31psi at the time. I plan on going to Cecil County Saturday for Test and Tune. How can I possibly get a better launch with these conditions? What air pressure should I run and where should I launch? Is the wheel hop because I am not launching high enough or because of the air pressure? Both?
BTW, car is a 97 civic hb, stock suspension, Jdm Itr engine with only exedy stage 1 clutch.
Thanks in advance for your help.

I am not sure about the tires themselves but that high of pressure for the track is way to high IMO. You can try to lower the pressure and run again try two pounds each side first to see if this gets rid of the wheel hop.
There is alot more than tires that cause wheel hop. Mounts, suspension bushings alignment etc. There is ways to fix this wheel hop using motor mount inserts, aluminum mounts, traction bars, drag radial etc.

Well, I am heading to the track. Haven't decided on which one yet, either Mason Dixon or Cecil. I'll try the air pressure suggestion. About the engine mounts, I don't have stock mounts, I have spoon mounts. The suspension definitely needs replaced, and will be this summer. Anyway, maybe I'll see some of you guys there. Later.
