Default difference between 89 and 90 "standard" headliner (non-sunroof)

I'm converting my 90 SI (with sunroof) to standard by replacing the roof skin.

The factory no longer has available the 89 std (no sunroof) headliner in grey, but the 90 version is available.

Could anybody tell me what the difference is.

I think it has to do with the seat-belt indicator housing that goes around the rear view mirror. However after looking at the San Leandro Honda web site (under both 90 and 91), there is no indication of the housing existing.

If anybody owns a 90 or 91 std, please let me know if it had the seat belt indicator or not.

my '90 std does indeed have the seatbelt indicator 'unit' around the rearview mirror.

Well poop!

I just went by the dealer and ordered a "lofty grey" 90 headliner and also the plastic covers for the seat-belt indicator.

I really would have prefered the 89!!! It drives me crazy that Honda only has it in brown and blue, grey being "no-longer-available".

Thanks for the information!!

i have a 90 or 91 headliner from a dx or std, i forgot lol.. then installed it on my 88 std..

i think the only diffrence is the seat belt indicator on top of the rear view mirror and additional handles in the back, well that's what i think i maybe wrong though.

o yea, good thing you ordered that plastic cover too because those are hard to find too, cause it won't look nice without that, it will show the rear view mirror bolts

I didn't have any problem finding the seat-belt indicator housing in a junk yard, but all of the snap on covers (that cover the bolts) were damaged and wouldn't stay in place.

Just for fun, here is a photo of my car with no roof.

Now this is strange!!

The part number for a 90 DX headliner is different from a 90 std headliner (both without sunroof, both in "lofty grey")!

What the heck could the difference be??

It's too late. the replacement roof skin is already welded in.
