Exhaust Problem
Alright guys, here's the deal. I've got a first gen b16a in my car. When I first got it, it was running the stock mani/cat/piping/muffler. Whenever in a drivethrough, you could really hear an exhaust leak. Well, got a new muffler welded on, same problem.
I finally got the cash to get my header/hi flow cat/2.5" piping and muffler. Same problem after this.
I just recently got the stock muffler put back on (cops hate me), but now you can really hear the sound. When you accelerate, it sounds like a massive exhaust leak. There are no leaks in the piping. All the gaskets are there. And it's weird that it has done it every single time.
My question is, has anyone else had this problem? With the windows up, it almost sounds like it's coming from the engine bay itself.
My valves need adjusted, because you can hear them ticking a little louder. Would this cause a sound like an exhaust leak?

I'm going to my friend's garage tomorrow to double check for an exhaust leak/do a valve adjustment. But if anyone has an ideas to why my car would be doing this, please reply! Thanks.

No, it sounds like an actual exhaust leak from the piping.

Well, I checked everything out today... and the damn exhaust shop never put the o-ring gasket in between my downpipe and cat. Fixed that, and it sounds a lot better now.

Yea... damn exhaust shop. At least when they welded my stock muffler on, they didn't charge me anything because it took them so long to do it (2 f'n days!)
But now that I have that fixed and a little money in the pocket, time to buy my thermal r&d
