Fan on Prelude
Hey guys. I own a 89-Prelude.
Im not sure about newer gens. With my car, it seems the fan never runs while driving. Ofcourse I cant be 100percent sure, because I cant look at it while driving.
Sometimes after you shut the car off, the fan runs for a few minutes then auto shuts off. Thats normal. But while the engine is running. I have yet to see the fan running.
I get worried you know. The temp gauge shows almost half while driving, yet I stop the car, pop up the lid, & I dont see the fan running. Is this normal for Prelude?
I've had it checked out. We replace a few parts to make sure. Mechanic says no worries.
But I worry, because the last time I floored it, the head gasket blew.
Some help would be appreciated. Cheers.

the temp gauge being at the half way point is normal. if it goes above that then start to look at things.
i drove my car across the country and then around town for about 8,000 miles with the fan unpluged. i over heated twice, both times in stop and go traffic.
you are good to go.
