Default Transmission.

Car is 1990 Hatch si, w/ Dohc Zc

Just replaced the clutch cause i "thought" that was the problem, But now im being told i need a new transmission

problems are that it wont go into gear bearly, and when it does it doesnt seem like its in gear...Example-I put it in 5th and yet it stills moves up and all around....all loose like..

How should i go about this..

Did you check that the clutch cable is adjusted correctly?

while your at it maybe you should replace your bushings. they might be wore out if your shifter moves like 2 inches to the side.

Oh wow, you really don't know much bout tranny's do ya.... The pole thing you're talking about is the shift linkage. That's not what defines the tranny. What the difference is, is what connects the clutch pedal to the tranny. If it's a cable tranny, you'll have a single cable running from the top of your clutch pedal under the dash, all the way to your tranny (which you probably do). But, on the off chance that you do have a hydro tranny, you'll have a power booster mounted in your engine bay that still runs a shorter cable to your tranny. I would bet that you have a cable tranny. So, on that note, first, find someone you know that knows these things and have them check your adjustments. The clutch pedal and/or lever should have 1/8 to 3/16" play in it.

well if its a zc its probably a cable. and you should adjust your shift linkage and if you need a new tranny itll probably cost you about 150 bucks.
