Default EM2 spring installation.

is the RSX the same? if they are, can u guys help me out?

is there a write up somewhere? i did a search and came up with nothing. i can do EG,EK,DCs easily. my friend just got a 05 civic and he wants me to install his springs.

are there step by step infos anywhere? i looked at it and it's completely different from the older gens. looks a little easier though. any help would be great...

If you've done an RSX or EP3, its the same.

Pull the struts out, make sure you TIE UP THE KNUCKLE, or you can plan on adding several hours to put the axle back in as well.
Undo the upper mount being careful not to spill the steering bearings everywhere, swap the spring and re-assemble.
Rears, undo the upper control arm and the shock, remove upper mount, swap spring and reinstall.
4-5 hours.

Don'f forget to index the springs.

explain to me the "tie up the knuckle" part.

i found this write-up. everything is explained well. but nothing on the tie up the knuckle part....

wouldn't the axle stay since the axle nut is still on? i speaking from experiece on older gens....don't know much about the 7th gen. correct me if i'm wrong. i just don't see how the axle can pop out.

Literally tie it up. You'll need something overhead that can support about 60 lbs to hold it. I've used my strut bar to hold it (with the other side still bolted in, and I've used an overhead shop crane. Other people lay a tire underneath the brake to hold it upright. The strut locates it, when you remove the strut, there's nothing holding the brake assembly in place but the lower control arm, which drops. So the brake falls out and away... pulling the axle out. I guess if you wanna get technical it pulls the inner CV joint apart, but you'll still be stuck trying to index it back together.

that works too. Just do something to constrain its outward motion. it needs to be kept somewhat upright.

i did a lot of reading and found out the whole assembly needs to be lined up correctly. all the 3 "arrows" and such. is this hard to do?

it shouldn't be TOO hard, the only thing hard would be some old/rusted bolts? other than that, its just moving it around, and getting it into the right place.
