New Engine Buildup, Edelblock Victor X or not?
Hello People, time to build my new engine for Road Racing. Its a b18C1. The car will have 13:1 Compression, 84mm Pistons, MID kit, Forged Rods, Type R Crank, Race ported head, 70mm TB, JUN III Cams (with retainers and springs), AEM Stand alone computer, 440 Injectors, ATS close gear ratio tranny and 4.92 final drive, Etc.
I have a Skunk II manifold for my B18c head . The Big question is if the Victor X manifold will do better for my purposes. I need torque and as much power as possible. In a few months I will be trying out a b16 Head with a Type R Manifold will make me once again conncerned about the manifold against another Victor X. I heard that they are more for drag racing and not so much for Roar racing.
So should I get the Victor X or not. Thanks
Jay
Any 2.0 liter high compression motor will definitely need to breathe. In my opinion a Skunk 2 manifold was designed for a 1.8 liter motor and will limit the true potential of the motor. A Victor X manifold will be adequate with your setup because it will complement the 84mm bore, headwork, big cams and high compression. Good luck with your build-up.
