Default Insurance (Racing Related)

Insurance Question(s):
A) Who has actual personal racing insurance (as in if you get hurt)? If so, what company do you use.
B) Who has race car insurance? Looking for a company that will just give comprehensive insurance. That is insurance that covers the car while not racing (while in transport, while in the garage, while in the trailer, while sitting in the paddock, etc...but not on the race track).

I would venture to say that Homeowners Insurance would cover the car on the trailer etc. I know they covered my skis when they were stolen "off the roof of our car" in the parking lot of a ski resort. I personally don't see how a car on a trailer attached to the tow vehicle would be any different.

Parrish-Heaantidisestablishmentarianism will cover the car (you choose the value) in transit, paddock, and storage. I insured mine for $17K at a premium of $250/year... SOLD!!!

Your personal medical and disability should cover any injuries.

Thanks guys, I'll give them a cal. (Adam - got the eMail...thanks!)

For those of you banking on your insurance provided by your employer, you may want to double check. I've heard of two incidents where they denied coverage. I spoke to quite a few long time racers, and they said they have "racing insurance" for themselves. Granted, they could have had bad policies, or bad insurers, or something. Just wanted to pass along.

[Edit] Oh yeah! North Carolina has these new freaky stupid laws. For example, regular car insurers will only provide Comprehensive or Collision insurance if you get Liability. I'll check with my homeowner's policy, but I've been told I would have to get a special insurance policy for the car. JEEEZ!
