Default quick question about clear cloat.

I own a '92 Accord EX and my clear coat is chipping off, should I just get what i can off and let someone re-coat it, or just get a whole new paint job?

It's on the front panels, right rear panel and both bumpers.

just go get some high grit sandpaper and wetsand with water and Dawn dishsoap, i say use Dawn because all other dishsoaps ahve like lotion in them so ur hands feel softer, well itll **** up ur paint if u use those dishsoaps. after that just give it a wax and your done!

if your clear coat is gone, then you're sanding paint -_-.....

before u try sanding your car, why dont you try an abrasive polish instead? i like meguiar's scratchX. if that doesnt work, slowly move up to the more abrasive techniques, eg wet sanding. and whenever u find something that works, be sure to wax that spot after u work on it. don't use the rattle can clear coats, they look like crap unless u take the whole panel off and coat the whole panel. even then, it takes a lot of practice and experience to get it right. gl
