Default battery light turns on???

I was wondering what could be triggering my battery light to turn on when im driving..it just started happening and so i thought a new battery would solve the problem yet the light keeps turning on...I experienced it today and it happens when i dont release the clutch quick enough on 2nd gear and it just goes on sometimes too. What is the problem???? I hope something is not really fucked up because thats my only car???

Also, my windshield wiper motor suddenly out of the blue died on me...It just makes a clonk noise when i try to turn it on...How do i rectify this situation also???

thanks....hopefully i didnt ask some stupid questions

the battery light tells u that the alt. is not charging tha battery; thus ur running the car on the battery(not good). get the alt. checked at autozone. there free

as for the wiper, the clunking says that the motor is working. most likly the arm conecting the wipers to the motor has fallen off. remove the plastic between the hood and the windsheld and u should have acsess.

could the alternator be the cause that my windshield wiper is not working. After reading chiltons, i found out that the alternator is the item that provides power to the engine and feeds electrical power to the other systems in the car. Do you think i can replace the alternator on my own or should i get a mechanic to do it for me???give ur opinons so i can fix my car this weekend

if you know about simple mechanics you should be able to do it. you remove the belt, the bolts holding it on then twist, push, pull, pray, and persevere that thing right out of the engine bay. if you have a chiltons just look up the directions about alternator removal. if you don't feel comfortable with a ratchet then don't do it...

Could be a few things...alternator,bad motor for wipers(believe me sometimes these things happen in bundles),or a bad sensor. Another indicator of a weakening alternator is your lights will begin to ocassionally dim or you'' notice a decrease in power from other places(Ssuchas a wiper motor). I'd get it checked soon though. Because once that goes, your car don't go till you get a knew one. Because soon it will get so weak the battery will not be able to recharge.

Have u installed an aftermarket intake on it? I ask because when i first installed mine, the batt light would come on... Turned out the intake was grounding out on the battery terminal... Even tho I added a bit of electrical tape for just that reason... It ate a hole in my intake too from it... So I had to rig something up to where it wouldnt touch the terminal at all...
