Euro-R Engine/tranny swap
I got a Euro-R engine/tranny. Haven't swapped it in yet but i will be soon. I have a 93 4WS Si. As far as i know it will mount right up and the install is pretty much out with the old, in with the new. If there's anything else, please let me know. But what i'm really wondering is after i do the swap, what else SHOULD i do to accomadate the more powerful engine i will have in my car? i.e. bigger fuel pump, bigger rotors? Anything that will help my car run smoother with the new engine. Thanks ahead of time!
Your platform is sound enough to handle the extra power. Just make sure your engine mounts and axles are in good shape.
You will have some issues with the Idle air control valve on the Euro R manifold. You will need to convert this to the 2 wire type used in your car currently. See my write up if you haven't already. Also, the fuel injectors used in the Euro R are vacuum assisted. I have seen driveability issues with these injectors used in the OBD1 cars. If you have the option to use earlier H22 injectors that would be my suggestion. Use of the earlier injectors will require some modifications, but well worth it.

So i should get me some h22 obd 1 injectors? And what kind of modification would it take to make them fit? And do you HAVE to use the stock IAC or is it just better?

My opinion is to go OBD1. Use the ODD1 injectors since you already have a resistor box. You can run OBD2 injectors, but you need to delete the resistor box to make them work. Modifications to the fuel rail will need to be made because the early style injectors are a lot larger than the Euro R injectors. Again, I also feel that the area around the injector's spray pattern needs to be opened up to keep fuel from accumulating on the manifold. See my Euro R manifold how to.

I know this is a pretty old thread, but i've been lagging. I'm finally gonna do this swap in a couple weeks so i need to take care of this first. I'm wondering what i should use to modify the fuel rail and the area around the injectors spray pattern as you suggested. Just like a dremmel or what...?

Just get the JDM or USDM rail or if you got the cash an AEM rail and FPR would be a great addition now!
And you could also get some 550cc injectors while your at it! Thats what I am running with no problems

Yea you are right the AEM rail and FPR are kind of a waste (performance wise) but if you already need to get a different one you might as well spend an extra couple bucks and make it look good and clean. IMO
