Default clutch gurus, help me out

The last two clutches I have replaced were oem b-series clutches. They both had the same symptoms prior to replacement and both had the EXACT same problem when removed. Here are the pics of mine, which i pulled today:

the mashed up spring is actually next to this one

Has anyone seen this before? Is this something caused by a weak point or design flaw, or driver error (neither cars were drag raced or misshifted/forced into gear)

bump for honda-TECH

I am not too concerned with this, I have another clutch waiting to go in. Just curious that's all.

only thing left on my front end is the block.

This is generally caused by hard shifting. It's not so much that it is being slammed into gear, it's because of a significant difference in crank rpm compared to trans input shaft rpm at the time of clutch engagement. Get a stronger clutch, or don't drive it so hard.

Learn to heel/toe and revmatch when downshifting and you're likely to never see this problem again.

Like I said, the car wasn't raced or anything like that. Spirited driving at worst. Clutch probably has about 150k miles on it.

Stock clutch discs suck!!! I have had seen about a dozen do this!!! If you cannot afford a new clutch kit, just order the organic disc from ACT by itself It holds up great!), and get your flywheel resurfaced! Cheap alternative and an excellent set up!!!!!

150k is a lot for a stock clutch.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with a stock disk or pressure plate. My 125K stock clutch had seen numerouse track events, strip passes and some light ricer burn outs and still was in one piece. I swapped it out for a low mileage ITR clutch setup that works really well w/o a heavy pedal or arsh engagement. I can't see a real reason to go with anything more than an Exedy Organic for a daily driven car >220 HP....
