Where are you going to be doing the welding? Garage? What type of power outlets do you have?

yes, in a garage for now... outlet is not a problem and power will not be either. luckily my brother and father are both electricians in the union for the family electric business.

You may want to look into the Syncrowave 250 also. 50 more amps is nice to have. You can probably get it with water cooler and cart for what you would pay for the 200dx alone.

The only advantages of the Dynasty machines is that they will weld a little better on AC, quite a bit better if you are doing fillets on AC....and they are smaller. If those things aren't pretty important to you, I'd go with the Syncrowave 250.

Just curious if you know of a good place to refer for pricing... because where I have been checking prices the 250 syncrowave was a bit more than the 200 dynasty.

btw thanks for the opinions thus far... trying to make the most informed decision (have already read alot of reference material, but it is not the same obviously).

Well, I guess they're actually not cheaper, but you are getting more power out of the 250 syncrowave.

Here's an older used syncrowave. These are good machines. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISA...=WDVW

$3437 for a 250 Syncrowave Tigrunner. It is water cooled, and comes with everything but a bottle of gas:

Dynasty 200SD for $2258 WITHOUT cooler, cart, torch, etc...

The SD model doesn't have AC pulse ability...but I doubt you'd ever need that anyway.

Well, I guess they're actually not cheaper, but you are getting more power out of the 250 syncrowave. I'd add up all the cost of the cooler and stuff individually, as you will need it if you buy the Dynasty model. The prices may be pretty close. You could contact the sellers on ebay and they may give you good prices on the accessories if you buy the machine from them.

I think I see what you mean about these accessories cost adding up... by the time I water cool the dynasty and everything, it will cost as much or more than the syncrowave.

Btw Engloid... from what I have seen of your work, it is VERY impressive.

Thanks for this feedback... and any other opinions are still welcomed.
