Spoon Wheel Info Needed
Got a set of spoon wheels that i need to refinish back to its original color (wheels have been used numerous times on track and has some scratches but no curbs nor chips). Now is the color of the wheels alumite black or flat black? Also if there is anyone around the Chicago area that can do this powdercoating or refinishing, any suggestions on where.
thanks much help is appreciated.

I think fangtl's point was that the Spoon SW-388's have an anodized finished. Anodizing typically gives you a flat/matte finish to whatever color dye was used, black in this case. Anodizing is not paint or powder-coating, it is an oxide that is formed on the surface of the aluminum by an electrochemical process. It forms a protective hard outer layer which is actually part of the wheel's material.
Here's a DIY site that shows the anodization process: http://www.focuser.com/atm/anodize/anodize99.html
In other words it looks like it would be a pain to get it "refinished" to exactly what it was from Spoon. You're best bet is probably to find a paint that matches it closely enough and just touch it up.
