alternator belt snapped
My belt snapped last night and now my DA is disabled again. I was wondering if the alternator and powersteering belt of a 94 civic was the same as the DA, doubt it but doesn't hurt to ask. Also where are the belt tensioners on the powersteering pump and ac compressor?
You should replace all your belts if they are old enough to be snapping. I would check to see if the alternator is spinning freely before putting on another belt to make sure the bearings aren't going in it and adding resistance.
For the A/C there is a tensioner that you loosen up with a 12mm wrench and then adjust with a 10mm socket on a long extension. The adjustment part goes between the A/C compressor and P/S pump. I would check the bearing in the tensioner while you're at it because they go bad over time, I had to replace them in both my DA and DC.
The power steering adjustment is cake. You just loosen the 2 12mm bolts that mount the p/S pump to the bracket and then adjust it with the 10mm adjustment bolt on top.
