Default help...coolant temp is 140^c

just had my whole engine swapped out to an exact same f23a1(blew my old one).
My old engine had a little leak in my head thru valve seals. That caused detonation...blew my ringlands...blah blah blah i had the head rebuilt, and valves reseated, but since the head had some work done to it(ported , milled, cam) and timing advanced 2.5 degrees, i decided to keep the same timing settings and swap it on top of the new block(i dunno now if that was such a good idea) My old engine had loss of compression, same advance of 2.5 deg, but coolant temp a lot lower then now...my new coolant temp is like 140+ deg cels.

can higher comp cause this temp rise? or maybe since the new engine already have better compression then the old, assuming it would like the same advance was a mistake? I also have some carbon built up(i do lots of city driving and its an auto ... car runs like **** at low rpms)

I've heard performance radiators dont lower the coolant temp that much just maybe 20-30%, my other solutions was retarding timing back some, add radiator, and maybe custom built ice box for the intake( i have a short ram now) Besides having high coolant temp, the cars ecu automatically retards timing to avoid detonation...the cars volumetric efficiency is deffinitely ****, so my performance on cold and hot days is something like 2-3 sec slower during qurter mile.
I checked my egr, have brand new water pump, spark plugs are the right heat settings, and my temp gage showing below middle) let me know what else i might have forgotten to check or any ideas on how to get the engines temp lower

140 deg cel is 284 deg f. how do you know it's that hot? the oem temperature gauge pegs full hot at about 250, so if it's below half and you think its at 140 cel then either your oem gauge is wrong or whatever you're using to figure its 140cel is wrong. and you'd be spraying coolant out of the overflow tank as well, so you really couldn't drive the car.

hmmmm, you r right it cant be that temp...the shop that did the tune told me it was running too hot for my setup...and i hear little detonation at certain rpm(3100-3500) i,m thinking i need to retard my timing, the engine is running a lot hotter then my old one with the same setup and settings(by hand touch) for some reason i was thinking 140 was temp its prolly in ferenhite and that was after first run

it should be running at around 185 - 200 deg F. when I had a water temp gauge hooked up to mine, it stayed pretty steady at 195 once it got warmed up.

Milling the head effectively changes the timing. i forget off the top of my head if it advances or retards it but the point is, unless you've taken that into account, your timing might not be what you think it is.

I assume that you're already running the highest octane you can get, otherwise i'd fill up with 91/93 to help with the pinging.

a couple drops of dish soap in your radiator will help reduce temps a few degs. So will running a higher water content in your h2o/anti-freeze mix. you could also wire the 2nd fan up to run all the time, that will help when you are sitting still.
