Default Thermal losses/testing...what is ideal water temp?

I'd like to experiment with different thermostats, radiators and caps in my ef. The goal is to optimize the water temp for track running. I'm going to be closely monitoring warm up and overall temp/fluctuation with a digital autometer gauge. Now as far as I have always known 195-200 seems to be a pretty good number. Maybe I'm nitpicking too much, but do any experienced heads have a better idea of an ideal temp on b-series?
