1990 accord won't start, searched but they didn't answer, please help
trying to start a 90 accord ex, auto, just a loud click and no crank. lights dim, so it's drawing plenty of current. the batter is perfect, 12.67V after sitting a few hours. short history: leaked oil, stopped, then started again, but i always added when it was below normal.
it does not crank at all...just the loud click of it connecting to the flywheel

Make sure the starter is grounded correctly... sounds like a new starter is in need. you could try tapping the outside of it (the part that is furthest away from the tranny)... but be careful you dont touch anything with whatever you tap it with... or you will shock yourself.

You need to test it with a load. Lots of bad batteries test OK for simple voltage with no load.
The load of the starter trying to crank probably draws the battery down a lot. Measure the battery voltage WHILE someone tries to start. If it drops down below say 8v or so, get a new battery.
Or measure battery voltage with all the headlights & blowers turned on. Or have it checked with a load at some carparts store.
If that checks out OK, then measure the voltage drop across each of the big battery cables while trying to start. If either or both are more than a fraction of a volt, clean up the corrosion, dirt, or tighten them or fix whatever you can find.

Wow what planet did you just come from? anyone else prob lock their motor due to an electrical problem?
