Yah, totally not thrilled about this. I think the shim i used for the LSD install was too small. Could this have caused any issues? I didnt mess with any of the gears or syncros, just removed them, slopped in LSD, and reinstalled them. Made sure all washers and whatnot were in their proper locations.

I remember reading about some HT member had to grind some of the tranny webbing away internally. I didnt do that, **** looked fine to me. ???

When im driving, jus cruising in any gear, 2nd and up will act fine, then sometimes grind out of the clear blue. Reserve doesnt work unless i lurch the car foward in 1st then quickly throw it into reverse, thats the ONLY way it will go into reverse. ARRRGG, i jus did a head gasket and now this.

Think the LSD unit is sliding side to side??

HELP!

Grab a helms and a good set of feeler gauges before you do too much damage.

Default Re: (Runnerdown)

its soo wierd... IM gonna swap shift linkages. I have urethane engine mounts and urethane mounts on the shift linkage too. Hurst short *******. I have a 100% stock linkage assembly, il try that right now. also, i filled trans on 100% level ground, took in 2 quarts of honda MTF.

I got the LSD from a smoked R trans. The shim that the R trans had was a .0051 or .051 wether its in hundreths or thousandths i forgot, but the number was 51 and i used a .041 or .0041.. So it could be on the loose side one could say.

Would this cause the issues i am seeing?
