Default Intake Help

I already have an AEM CAI on my base rsx and i was wondering if their was a better intake out there? Also AEM bypass valve doesnt fit on the RSX, so its a pain in th a** to drive in the rain. So i was wondering if there were any other good intakes? Any suggestion would be greatly apprecited!

Im leaning toward an HKS Intake because in thinking about getting the Hi-Power exhuast.

stick with the AEM. HKS isn't going to give you the power because it's a short ram. plus you live in LA and it's not going to rain anymore.

Ya bro we're good on the rain for atleast the next 6-7 months. Maybe a few more light showers before summer *****. Just stick with the AEM. The gains for cold airs are all about the same, atleast for us base drivers. Also you went through more trouble then me with my Injen to install it. Just stick with it. And yes bypass valve doesnt fit for us. Radiator hose is right in the way.

You can always get a drycharger. K&N sells them. It's a water resistant sock that goes over your filter. You lose a little bit of HP, but it's way safer than an open filter. Personally, I'd prefer to have an Injen CAI over my AEM. Simply because they send a replacement washer fluid resevoir instead of making you relocate it.

dont drive in deep puddles. Your in LA. the chances of you hydrolocking are pretty slim.

as far as performance, the gains are pretty much even... AEM wins from a price stand point, but Injen does provide that replacement washer fluid bottle...

when i had my cold air, i ran it year round up in the sf bay area. you should not have a problem here in socal unless you travel through streets with particularly poor drainage when it rains... i know they are around so...

if you have an '02-'04 manual tranny rsx or rsx-s you may want to consider the Comptech Icebox... it works as a short ram but has an extension that draws in air from outside of the engine bay. it is also quieter than a short ram or cold air if that matters to you.
