Im joining the RSX family.
Hey everyone just wanted to post and say that Im buying a 2004 Rsx Type S and was wondering what i can start doing to it. Any comments , suggestions appreciated ... I dont know much about the RSX so im researching and researching.
well it depends on your money, if you are loaded i would build it and put a turbo on, but if you are kind of low on money, which is less likely because you just bought a new rsx, i would go with bolt ons, ie i/h/e

Thanks for the replies guys. I think ill take a little bit out of all your suggestions. I m going to pick up the car this Friday so im just gonna go out and see how she runs and get a good idea about the car. My buddy said i should just do ahead and install some HID in there. Reason he says this is because him and my other friend just went and bought bought a G35 2Door Full loaded. I think they doing some small mods like lights and stuff and Im prboably just gonna put HID for now and Intake header and exhaust to follow i presume.. What is the best Cold Air intake ?? and does anyone actually ahve one on their RSX/?

<<Definitely the 1st thing you should do. I've heard the stock 05 exhaust, it sound nice the way it is, for now anyways. I/H/E is good way to start if your're thinking about going NA, but if you want to go FI... So like you said go out there and test her, think about your plans.

Club RSX Springs, Camber kit, AEM or Injen Cold Air, Header, Exhaust, Hondata #4, or if you're a baller K-Pro with new cams and springs. But welcome to the family. It's a good reliable car that is relatively easy to mod with a little patience and responds extremely well to bolt-ons.
I went with ground controls and a dc sports shorty header... (dont go with the shorty) I am now going to buy a race header instead. Anyway, slam first (either on springs or a cheap set of coilovers) then do basic bolt ons and like everyone else has said... go from there.
Get teins later though... theyre amazing

TIRES!!!! I don't know why Acura uses those shitty Michelins that are about worthless on a car that is supposed to be a bit sporty. Spend some money on tires, don't go cheap in this department.
This should be your only mod at first. The stock suspension is decent enough, with new tires you can have fun with the stock sussy. Cheap coilovers, don't do it, Teins are not the ****, they are ****. Oh no, I just pissed a bunch of people off because they own Teins and think, it is the best suspension ever because of what those bullshit rags say in the States. They are not worth the money they charge. When it comes to suspension, what do you plan on doing with the car as far as driving? You will not outdrive the stock suspension when you equip the car with real tires. On my R, I just recently put on SWIFT springs on the stock sussy, because I wasn't gettting as much rotation from the rear end that I wanted, and the SWIFT springs helped out tremendously with this. Eventually I will step up a notch, most likely when the stock struts are in need of replacement, and go after Quantum, Aragosta, Crux or Toda DAs. Me personally, I will never blink twice at a Tein setup.

maybe to you but if you look in the roadrace/autocross or suspension forum there is the general consensus that there are nothing but overpriced jdm crap. I have ridden in a car with tein basics and to tell you the truth it was not too great but they were not the top of the line model.

YES and my opinion on them of being **** is still that! Buy into the magazine hype all you want. If you don't have the RA/RE or N1 model, you just have a normal suspension with an exploded price. I guess they are good for a street suspension, but for tracking they are not worthy.

agreed
i've driven cars with SS and Flex and they're too soft for my taste, even at full stiff. some people i've met (with Zeal V6s and BC RS) really liked the JICs i had on mine. i feel that DC5s are not the same as EG/EK/DC4/2s where you can just slap on something cheap (like OTS konis and GC sleeves for example) and you'll do ok. with the DC5's weight and suspension geometry playing against it, i'd say go big or go home
i hate bandwagoneers that type "TEIN" in capitals. "What should i get for suspesion?" "TEIN!" hey drones, have you tried anything else besides Tein?
honestly, just get some tires and wait until you can outdrive the stock suspension first. i was rolling all sorts of cars with my stock '03 with just Azenis at HDPEs
