Crank Pulley wobble???
i have a 98 gsr, car runs great, no weird noises or anything. it has 59k miles, soon i have to get 60k tune up, today i was changde my oil. i turned the car on after oil change and was just inspecting the car... then i saw the crank pulley wobble, or should i say it looks like its unbalanced.. does it suppose to do that?? i thought that crank pulley are not suppose to wobble/move when engine is ideling?? i asked my friend to look a the crank pulley when i steped on the gas, he say it did not move/wobble when is reving...i dont know if you guys have any input in this please comment. thanks
just remember: the harmonic damper, or crank pulley, is there to dampen vibrations of the crankshaft, which are large and abundant. i've never watched mine while the engine is spinning since i keep the lower plastic on, but i wouldn't be surprised if it wobbled just a tiny bit. if it wobbles more than a hair, though, i'd take an impact wrench to it and make sure it's tight.
