Default Best Tires

I am planning to buy new tires for my gsr but don't know the best kind. So i need thoughts or suggestions on what the best tires are for a gsr. was thinking of nitto or falken.

falken azenis are good for summer/dry weather gripping, but low tread.

falken ziex 512 is what i have all season tires, works fine for me, long lifing tread.

Kumho Ecsta 712's is what i use to have, they're ok.

Heard nothing but good from azenis... the only bad is the short lifespan... so if u have the money and don't mind buying tires all the time... azenis is the way to go... 205/50/15 i believe for the stock gsr rims?

What do you plan on doing with ur car. Any plans of road racing or auto-x or is it just gonna be your daily driver. Does the car see snow, or lots of rain. All these will affect your decision. From there look at your choices.

AVS ES100 Continental SportContact are both good, as is the Azenis, and the azenis is cheap, however, the azenis is also very heavy. i can't think of a heavier tire, and the mass of the tire affects rotational inertia a lot more than the mass of the wheel, so that's probably the second biggest downside other than lifespan.

oh yeah, stay away from nitto. only good thing they make is the 555R drag tire, which does okay w/ autoX. also stay away from yokohama parada.

I've tried the kumho 712 and the falken 512, niether are particularly impressive for dry handling, but the 512 has been good in the rain and snow.

avs es100s will be my next tires. i hear bad things about those nittos.
paradas aren't bad either. they're about the same quality as the es100s, but the 100s are supposed to do better in the rain, and slightly better in snow.

I have the AVS ES100's on my '98 GS-R and on my 350z. They feel as good in the rain as they do on dry pavement. For the price, you can't get a better tire.
