Secondary O2 Probs(H22a)
When I got my car it did not have a secondary O2 sensor installed since it runs a OBD1 motor. Since it is a 97 though I need to pass a emissions test which involves scanning the OBD2 port for codes.
So I bought a O2 Sim and have it wired up correctly but I am still throwing a code 65 for the secondary O2 heater. I put a resistor in place like the directions said but I still get the code.
My next step, I actually went out and bought a Bosch universal O2 sensor and I have been trying to splice it into my ECU harness so the damn thing sees the voltage drop and thinks that the heater is working. I spliced it in about 6 inches out from the ecu (96 P13). I put one heater wire to A6, the other to power at A10 and I grounded it at A11. I left the signal wire off, since the one from the Sim is hooked up. The O2 sensor heats up like a mother f**ker but I still throw a code 65.
Anyone got an idea what's wrong?

Hey man first of all why are you splicing it in at the ecu harness?
You should it just splined it to where the original O2 sensor harness was...
That might be part of your problem...

The plug where the o2 sensor is supposed to plug in is really hard to get to and I honestly don't think I can get any tools back there to strip the wire or solder or anything. If I had the actual connector it would be cake cause I could solder that up to the sensor and just plug it in. Honda wont sell me just the connector though they want several hundred dollars for the whole harness. Even at Autozone, to get one that is factory length with the connector on it is $279!
