Theres this whistling UFO type of noise from the engine bay, sorta sounds like a messed up alternator belt sound, and i dont know what it is. When i engage the clutch (cable clutch) , the sound becomes a little louder. Anyone have an idea what it can be?

 

Sounds like the throw out bearing.

 

hmm..maybe...the sound also goes away when i throttle but once i release it..it comes back

i have this whistling noise too, its coming from my intake on my hatchback

 

its coming from the intake box, if you have removed the silencer from the intake, or have an after market one then sometimes they can wistle, i had the same thing happen on my 99si when i put the factory intake box and tube bacl in.
