Default vtec problem

i have a h22a motor in a accord 94.when i hit 5600rpm the vtec doesnt engage at all i dont get its like something is holding me back no vtec at all from 2000rpm till 5600rpm motor runs faster than from 5600rpm and up.checked oil perfect i dont know what the problem is anyone could help me ill appreciate it a lot

actually i dont think so because i never really pushed it that far until yesterday because my axles were messed up so i push it yesterday and the vtec doesnt engage my mechanic said its wired correctly but i dont think so.i dont even wanna go back to his shop because he did a shittttyyyy job on my swap.so i dont know what the hell to do

First off your thread is confusing, if I understand it right you don't have VTEC from 2000-5400rpms correct? If so you shouldn't have it until around 4800rpm's that is when it usually engages.

Check engine light on? If the engine light is on, do a jump and tell us the code. Could you go past 5600rpm if not you diffinitly dont have have vtec.

i can go past 5600rpm but there is no kick or anything in matterfact the car gets slower after i hit 5600rpm and up.My engine light is on because of my o2 sensor i dont think that could be the problem with the vtec.
